I recently stumbled across Kelly Clarkson’s new album and
while listening one of her three tops hits from the album, Piece by Piece, it
made me realize how lucky I am.
While I still firmly believe that we as humans should always
strive to be our best, especially parents, the lyrics of this song reminds me
that things could have been worse, I could have been the scarred girl depicted in
the song, or was abused by my parents or had been abandoned completely by my
parents. Sure my family isn’t perfect, my parents aren’t perfect, but they’re
mine and they have always been with me my entire life. So, with everything that
has happened, all the bad times along with the good, thank you dad for always
sticking around.
